A Few Poems By Gene
Doty

(all poems and essays copyright by Gene Doty)

I have two recent books of poems. One, a collection of ghazals, is online at AHA Books. The title is Zero:Thirty Ghazals. You may read it by going to AHA Books Online.

The other book is a collection of haiku, published in hard copy by Brooks Books. The title is Nose to Nose. You can get information about it at Brooks' English-Language Haiku Web Site.

The poems linked here represent what I've been doing in the last few years. There are some sijo. I will be adding other poems in other forms as time allows.

One group of poems is of especial interest to me right now. These are verse versions I am making of a prose translation of Altaic (Turkish) epic and legend. My friend, Gülten Yener translated this material for her Masters Thesis at Emporia State University in 1965. After a lapse of nearly thirty years, I am working on the verse version again. Any constructive comments and suggestions are welcome.
